My beautiful wife Megan has given me so much through our 7 years together – unconditional love, unwavering support, 3 amazing children -- so I wanted to do something special for her birthday. Forget the hassles of airline travel and out-of-town trips. Downtown Denver has everything I wanted to put together a great weekend! And as we all embark on this holiday season, treating yourself to a night or weekend out is a great gift idea - - one that creates memories and maybe the beginnings of a new holiday tradition!

The first, most important reservation I made was with my in-laws, who took our 5-, 3- and 1-year-olds for the weekend!

I booked us a room at the legendary Hotel Teatro in downtown Denver. “Teatro,” as you might guess, is Italian

I joined a new gym called Orangetheory Fitness that I love. Orangetheory uses the science of Heart-Rate Based Treadmill Interval Training, the efficiency of Indoor Rowing for increased power and the proven concept of Weight Training Blocks to create the fitness level you've always desired. Their friendly instructors  are committed to helping you meet your fitness goals - it's a group workout with the attention of an experienced personal trainer. They play great music that really keeps you moving. I usually burn around 700 to 800 calories per workout!

I had a membership at Lifetime Fitness but I somehow always convinced myself that I was too busy to go. At Orangetheory, you have to sign up for classes which makes me accountable. It's on my calendar

This past weekend, we had an opportunity to meet up with friends in Steamboat Springs. We had a fabulous, action-packed adventure. Following is our collective list of the top 9 must-do's when visiting Steamboat:

1. Steamboat Pro Rodeo: It's a great small town rodeo. It's always fun to watch the cowboys, see the bull riding, calf roping and the bucking broncos. As an added bonus, they serve delicious barbecue chicken and ribs with potato salad and beans. Delicious!
2. Breakfast at Creekside Cafe: A must-eat-at spot when visiting Steamboat Springs. Enjoy breakfast or lunch while sitting under an umbrella on their picturesque patio located next to Soda Creek. Creekside has a small town feel with everything made from scratch, cut by hand,

selling-on-CraigslistBefore you sell your home, it's a very good idea to dejunk and declutter. Homes that have been staged show better and sell faster and for more money. As an added bonus, you can use the money you make from selling your stuff to make repairs on your existing home or save up for projects on your new one.

When selling your stuff online, choosing to list on Craigslist or eBay can make a difference. Before you list anything, consider three factors:

  1. Location: eBay opens up your listing to a global market, which is perfect for antiques, electronics and rare items. However, if you're selling items that are too big to ship, you should stick to Craigslist since the buyers can pick up the large pieces themselves.
  2. How Fast You Want to Sell: Think about how

Jonathan Day, owner of Kneaders Bakery at their future site in Parker

Kneaders European bread will open in Parker this summer! Anyone who has experienced Kneaders knows how good it is. Just in case you haven't had the pleasure yet, following are snippets from their abundant breakfast and lunch menu items: cinnamon spice pecan pancakes, Greek omelet, filled croissants, oodles of smoothies, turkey artichoke on focaccia, turkey cranberry croissant, homemade soups in a sourdough bun and a chicken raspberry nut salad.

The excitement of local residents is building. I posted about this on my Facebook page and received almost 300 likes and 100 comments! Following are some of the comments:

20140305_174600After driving by Fresh Fare many times, I finally had the chance to check it out with my client, Daphne. We had just finished looking at The 8 Foot House in Denver and needed to find a place to meet and finish writing up the offer.

The Fresh Fare at King Sooper's caters to shoppers seeking freshness, variety and quick meal solutions, with fruits and vegetables from local growers, organic and gluten-free products, a sandwich shop, ready-to-heat entrées, ready-to-eat salads, sushi made fresh daily, Murray's cheese shop, an expanded butcher shop and more than 50 varieties of seafood. Some might argue that Fresh Fare rivals Whole Foods.

Fresh Fare is on the former Denver Seminary site, located at the intersection of South University and East Hampden.
